This tour begins at the Our Lady of Remedies Sanctuary: after climbing the monumental staircase, enjoy a guided visit to the church and gardens. We then head to Peso da Régua for a traditional Cabidela lunch with panoramic views over the river. After, we drive through the N222 — celebrated as one of the world’s most beautiful roads — with the Douro River as our companion, winding through the landscape to Pinhão. We will then visit the Pinhão railway station, famous for its beautiful tiles, and after crossing the Pinhão bridge, Quinta das Carvalhas welcomes us for an estate tour up to a breathtaking viewpoint over the vineyards. We finish with a tasting of white, red and Port wines paired with local cheeses and charcuterie.

We begin our visit with a guided tour to Bom Jesus do Monte, ascending on the Iberian Peninsula’s first funicular — the world’s only water-balanced system in operation. We then proceed to Braga’s city center, to visit Portugal’s oldest cathedral. Then it’s off to Ponte de Lima for a classic Sarrabulho and Rojões lunch in one of the town’s oldest traditional restaurants. We will then finish our tour with a walk through the historic center and across the medieval bridge.

We start this tour by following the pilgrim’s footsteps to the top of mount Farinha, where you will visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Grace. After passing through Mondim de Basto, we stop at Ponte de Matamá to take in the Tâmega River and its scenery. In Celorico de Basto, try the traditional roast kid at a cosy, family-run restaurant. We then continue to Arnoia Castle — a medieval bastion that helped defend the Christian faith during the Muslim Invasions — where you can enjoy panoramic views over the region’s fertile fields, vineyards and olive groves.

We finish our tour in Amarante, where we will cross the iconic São Gonçalo Bridge and visit the church-monastery that blends Gothic, Manueline, Renaissance and Baroque styles, and houses the tomb of the city’s patron saint.
